Glossary
Purpose: Consistent terminology across all documents
Core Concepts
Sattva Sanskrit for purity, harmony, goodness. Guides how we interact with warmth and authenticity. This is a principle, NOT a reference to the Sattva app (app-based conversion is central body's domain, not DC Center's focus).
Core Journey The participant path through Art of Living offerings:
Intro Session → SKY Course → Sahaj Samadhi → Silent Retreat
Programs & Events
Intro Session / Intro Talk Free 60-90 minute educational session introducing SKY breathing techniques. Gives a partial experience of the practice. Used interchangeably in docs.
SKY Course (Happiness Course) The foundational Art of Living course teaching Sudarshan Kriya breathing technique. Typically 3-4 days.
Sahaj Samadhi Meditation course for SKY graduates. Next step in the core journey.
Silent Retreat (Advanced Course) Extended practice retreat for graduates. Completes the core journey.
World Meditation Day (WMD) Global event on December 21. Major awareness and outreach opportunity.
Mega Course Large-scale SKY Course with prominent teacher. January 2025 course is taught by DC's star teacher.

Outreach Terms
Wellness Positioning Leading with health/stress-relief benefits in public messaging. Spiritual depth emerges through practice, not marketing.
Human-First Outreach Direct personal connection through libraries, venues, buildings, events. Not app-based or purely digital funnels.
Neighborhood Presence Visibility and trust-building in local community through partnerships, regular sessions, and community integration.
Technical Terms
IT Team Small group (couple of volunteers) who build tools using n8n, Camunda, NotebookLM. They create systems so general volunteers only need familiar tools (Google Sheets, WhatsApp, Slack).
Basic Communication Streamlining First-phase infrastructure: clear channels, simple tracking, conventional tools. Must be in place before deeper automation.
Digital Kiosk Interactive touchscreen station for center. Prioritized in backlog for improving presence and communication.
Add new terms as they emerge. Keep definitions concise.
